In the spring of 2007, OSJ received the “Best Website of 2006” award from the Outdoor Writers Association of California.Frustrated by the lack of interest in Southern California saltwater fly-fishing by the national magazines, John launched “Beyond The Breakwater” to provide a forum for people interested in the opportunities that exist in the waters off Southern California.
