Project Description
Our front ice chest is a 120 quart Igloo marine cooler (no longer made). It serves as a removable fish box, or as water resistant storage if a fish box is not needed.
We had the ice chest before we boat Toy Boat 2, and it was pure luck that it was a near-perfect fit for the area in front of the console.
This ice chest is not locked in place with a tie-down kit, like the rear ice chests. Instead, we use a couple of small bungee cords on either end to keep the ice chest centered in the hull. The ice chest is heavy enough that it does not really bounce around, even in rough water. However, it could slide from side-to-side. The bungee cords allow the chest to slide a bit, but the bungee cord tension tends to keep it centered.
