Project Description

Our Edgewater 175CC came with two gunnel rod holders, one in each corner of the stern. We added two more flush-mount gunnel rod holders from Lee Tackle. As you may recall, rod carrying capacity was part of the requirements in our “Search for Toy Boat 2”.

We mounted them amidships, pointing out to the side of the boat. This was to keep the lines coming off the forward rods lined up outside of the stern rods.

There is actually a heavy fiberglass/wood pad where we drilled the holes for these babies. They’re held in place with a heavy dose of 3M 5200, and large pan-head stainless screws. We had originally thought through-bolting would be needed, but after 15 years, everything is still solidly in place.
