Project Description
One of the “offshore” things we did was to install a pair of Precision Marine “Econoline” 12′ skiff outriggers. These are affordable fiberglass ‘riggers that come with a couple of different mounting options.
We originally thought we would try to mount them to the center console, so that we could walk around the boat without interference. Boston Whaler used to offer outrigger mounts welded to the front of the console grab rail. We thought we would go that route, but decided that we didn’t want to risk damaging the rail.
The end result were gunnel mounts for the outriggers. The area where we mounted the riggers had a 1″ marine plywood pad fiberglassed into the hull, so we only had to mount the bases with #12 wood screws and lots of 3M 5200.
